Quantway and Statway (Carnegie Foundation); New Mathways Project (Dana Center)
[Updated March 26, 2012]
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is managing a "pathways" grant for developmental mathematics. For general information about their work, see http://www.carnegiefoundation.org/problem-solving/developmental-math
The Dana Center is launching a Math Pathways Project in 2012; seehttp://www.utdanacenter.org/mathways/index.php

Carnegie Pathways:
The pilot phase of quantway & statway began in Fall 2011 and spring 2012 at colleges in 8 states. For further details on statway, see http://www.carnegiefoundation.org/statway

The curriculum in quantway and statway is consistent with the New Life vision; specifically, the learning outcomes of "MLCS" (Mathematical Literacy for College Students) are very similar to those in mathway, and many appear in Statway as well.

The instructional materials for Quantway™ and Statway™ will be 'open resource' at some future time; in other words, the lessons and homework system will eventually be freely available to others. In 2012, only colleges accepted in to the Network (by the Carnegie Foundation) will have access to all materials.

Dana Center Mathways
The Dana Center is developing 3 Mathways -- statistics, quantitative reasoning, and STEM, as well as a student success course. At this time, the Dana Center has an Implementation Guide (
http://www.utdanacenter.org/mathways/downloads/new-mathways-project-implementation-feb2012.pdf) which would also apply to implementing a New Life model). For further information, contact the Dana Center at
